4 Amazing Apps Every Bible Teacher Should Have in their Phones.

I remember walking into a Christian bookshop in 2014 to buy a teacher’s study bible. I had just 10.000 FRS in my pocket.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford any of the books because the price tag on the cheapest study bible cost 25.000 FRS.

More so, the books were voluminous that if I bought four of them I’d have to hire a taxi to take them along.

Amazingly, six years later, I have all those books right in my pocket, and for free.

In this article, I am going to share with you four free and easy-to-use apps that can help you with your Bible lesson preparation.

All you need is an android phone and an internet connection.

Isn’t this great!

Let’s begin with the most robust app.

App #1: Logos Bible

It is a robust bible study app that contains many teaching resources. I refer to it as an all-in-one app. It’s like walking around with all bible teaching tools in your pocket.

  • The bible in many versions.
  • A bible commentary with an exegetical guide
  • A concordance that provides both Greek and Hebrew meanings to words in its original context.
  • Summarized background information of each chapter with the main characters, the keywords, strong verses, cross-references and striking facts.

Take a glance at some the resources it contains…

In fact, the amount of information you find just by opening a single verse is amazing.

Above all, it is user friendly and free to download. However, some features are only available online.

App # 2: Quizlet

It is an excellent question-setting app that offers lots of flashcards, games, and questions that facilitates teaching and learning.

The strength of an inquiry-based lesson largely depends on the quality of questions you ask students.

If you find it difficult to set quality questions for your students, I recommend Quizlet for you.

App # 3: Bible with Strong’s Concordance

A concordance is an alphabetical listing of all the words in the Bible and of all the verses in which they appear.

I think it is one of the best, if not the best app for bible concordance.

Unlike like other concordances than can only be used online, it can be used onsite.

It is quick, and it drills the bible down to the original Hebrew and Greek meaning.

It helps you to understand the root language of words and dig deeper into the bible.

App # 4: YouTube

Almost 5 billion videos are watched on YouTube every single day. YouTube gets over 30 million visitors per day.

There are moments when reading a complete historical background from many chapters in a hardcover bible can be very tiring and time-consuming.

Simply watching a video on YouTube can save time and enhance your level of understanding.

This is possible with YouTube!

It has tones of tutorials and information on almost every conceivable topic.

You could use it to study bible stories and historical information you find difficult to understand during your lesson preparation time.

As a caution, care must be taken when listening to other peoples’ views, claims and doctrine.

Let the bible be your ultimate authority.
